Our client is seeking an experienced professional to assume a key leadership role within their Nursing Home team.
The successful candidate will provide strategic support to the Director of Nursing, ensuring high standards of care and excellence in nursing practice.
Responsibilities include:
* Assisting the Director of Nursing in leading and supervising the delivery of person-centred, evidence-based nursing care.
* Monitoring and evaluating clinical practices to ensure they meet current HIQA standards
* Supporting the development, implementation, and monitoring of care plans in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team.
* Overseeing infection prevention and control measures in line with updated HIQA guidance
* Preparing for, responding to, and following up on HIQA inspections and audits.
* Maintaining and updating required documentation, including risk registers, incident logs, care plans, and audit results.
* Supervising, mentoring, and supporting nursing and care staff, promoting continuous professional development.
* Participating in recruitment, onboarding, rostering, and performance appraisals.
* Facilitating regular team meetings, clinical supervision, and reflective practice sessions.
* Promoting dignity, autonomy, and choice for all residents in a safe, inclusive environment.
* Acting as a key point of contact for residents and families, handling concerns or complaints professionally and in line with policy.
* Assisting the Director of Nursing in strategic planning, budgeting, resource allocation, and policy development.
* Contributing to quality improvement initiatives and the development of the annual Quality Improvement Plan (QIP).
* Deputising for the Director of Nursing as required.
Requirements:
* Registered General Nurse (RGN) with the NMBI - active registration required.
* Minimum of 3 years experience in nursing management/nursing home or similar aged care setting.
* Demonstrated knowledge of HIQA, National Standards, and relevant legislation.
* Leadership training and/or a management qualification (e.g. QQI Level 6 in Management) is desirable.
* Postgraduate qualification in nursing leadership.
