Job Description:
The role of a Health and Safety Manager is crucial in ensuring the well-being of employees and preventing accidents on construction sites. This position requires an individual to develop and implement health and safety policies, procedures, and plans that align with current legislations.
The successful candidate will have experience in managing a health and safety team, coordinating activities across various sites, and conducting regular site visits and inspections. They will also be responsible for ensuring that all incidents are dealt with appropriately and developing strategies to prevent such situations from occurring in the future.
In addition to their technical skills, the ideal candidate will possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, enabling them to effectively liaise with internal and external stakeholders. A strong understanding of health and safety regulations, along with the ability to prepare and coordinate training for employees, is also essential.
Responsibilities:
* Liaise with Contracts Manager and Senior Management Team
* Manage and maintain company's health and safety policies and procedures
* Develop health and safety plans to align with current legislations
* Coordinate health and safety activities on various sites
* Manage and coordinate health and safety officers and advisors
* Ensure regular site visits and inspections
* Deal with incidents appropriately
* Liaise with internal and external auditors
* Prepare and coordinate training for employees
Specification:
* Health and safety degree or qualification
* 5+ years' experience in a similar position
* Able to manage a health and safety team
* Excellent communicator
* NEBOSH certified
* Confident in using Microsoft Office
* Full driving licence
