To support the maintenance and repair of Civil, Structural, and Architectural aspects of the buildings, both internally and externally. Support external contractors for the maintenance and repair of the same. The Maintenance Technician is also responsible for supporting the operation and maintenance of the preventative maintenance system according to predetermined guidelines.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
* Responsible for maintaining all facility equipment and plant systems (Utilities & HVAC) on site.
* Support commissioning and validation for existing and new projects.
* Assist with scheduled maintenance following Standard Operating Instructions.
* File and archive facilities and maintenance documentation.
* Communicate and update the Maintenance Department and other departments on issues such as compliance and investigation outcomes.
* Assist in managing maintenance contracts and contractors.
* Accurately record hours against planned work.
* Collaborate with Engineering to develop maintenance strategies for all equipment.
* Ensure CMMS system users are trained and adhere to procedures.
* Identify opportunities for improvement.
* Work with Maintenance and Quality Engineers to keep the Preventive Maintenance program current.
* Coordinate with Engineering to identify building, mechanical, and electrical spares to maximize equipment availability.
* Support investigations to resolve deviations, change controls, and CAPAs.
* Develop standard specifications and procedures for each item and monitor all existing plant to meet these standards.
* Support production to minimize equipment downtime through preventive and corrective maintenance.
* Respond to equipment failures or out-of-spec issues to meet production and batch release requirements.
* Plan equipment downtime in coordination with production and external vendors.
* Perform risk assessments on instruments through calibration classification.
* Understand P&ID, electrical, and pneumatic drawings.
Education
* Trade qualification in Construction, Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation, or a Diploma in Engineering (Electrical, Process, Mechanical, or Building Services Engineering).
Work Experience
* Minimum 2 years of hands-on experience, preferably in a maintenance role within the pharmaceutical, medical devices, or manufacturing industry.
Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
* Familiarity with CMMS.
* Ability to interpret and design electrical schematics and read hydraulic, pneumatic, and P&ID drawings.
* Experience with technically challenging applications (e.g., medical, tight tolerance work) is advantageous.
* Team player.
* Strong IT skills.
* Good verbal and written communication skills.
* Excellent interpersonal skills to work across all organizational levels.
* Structured working approach and strong organizational skills.
* Ability to interact effectively with suppliers, customers, and external contractors.
Travel Requirements
Up to 13 business days per year (approximately 5%).
