This role provides technical and sustaining engineering support within a manufacturing environment. The position focuses on equipment and process improvements, integration of materials and technologies, and ensuring alignment between product design and manufacturing capabilities. The role may also involve leading development and optimisation activities for new manufacturing concepts.
Key Responsibilities
Manufacturing & Process Support
Provide technical and sustaining engineering support in a manufacturing area.
Recommend and implement equipment and process modifications to improve:
Quality standards
Manufacturing techniques
Production yields for existing products
Integrate equipment and material capabilities to meet process module and technology target specifications.
Review product development requirements for compatibility with processing methods to determine costs and schedules.
Interact with product design and development teams to ensure process–design compatibility.
Lead the innovation, development or optimisation of new manufacturing concepts, processes and procedures for transfer to operations.
Activities may include:
Scouting and feasibility studies
Process and equipment selection
Assessment of inputs, outputs and requirement alignment
Develop manufacturing processes suitable for statistical process control.
Develop or recommend measurement systems and analytical techniques.
Compliance & Documentation
Ensure all processes and procedures comply with relevant regulations.
May contribute to or develop statistical analyses and documentation.
Technical Specialist Career Stream
This is an individual contributor role within the technical career stream, responsible for advancing or introducing new technology and therapies. Responsibilities include:
Formulating, delivering and/or managing assigned projects.
Collaborating with stakeholders to achieve desired outcomes.
Potentially mentoring colleagues or directing the work of junior professionals.
Focusing primarily on delivering R&D, systems, or initiatives related to new technologies or therapies from design through to implementation.
Applying specialised knowledge while adhering to organisational policies.
Required Knowledge & Experience
Advanced knowledge of the job area, with both breadth and depth.
Typically gained through:
A Bachelors degree plus 4+ years of relevant experience, or
An advanced degree plus 2+ years of relevant experience.
Practical project management experience may be beneficial.
