Job Purpose:
The Member Services Officer will be accountable to the Branch Manager of West-Midlands Credit Union in carrying out a range of administrative and operational activities, that contribute to the effective running on the credit union and providing a quality service to members. This position will be primarily based in our Tuam, Co. Galway branch but may on occasion require the need to travel to our other branches.
Key Responsibilities:
* Providing services to members including processing of lodgements, withdrawals, issue of loans, loan repayments and foreign exchange transactions
* Accurately and competently handling cash; reconciling cash balances daily
* Assisting members and providing details on the range of services offered by the credit union
* Updating member information and ensuring the database is maintained to a high standard
* Back office administrative and operational duties as the needs of the office require

Qualifications & Experience:
* Previous experience working in a credit union or other financial institution would be an advantage
* Experience of Cash Handling
* Excellent administration skills and attention to detail
* Excellent communication, planning, and organisational skills
* Ability to use discretion and sensitivity in dealing with members
* Excellent computer skills to include Microsoft Office
* QFA qualified or willing to work towards
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
* Ability to handle information in the strictest confidence
