About Us Tipperary Credit Union is a not for profit, community-based credit union, dedicated to serving its 30,000 members with integrity and purpose, since its inception since 1967. With an asset size of almost €175 million, the credit union has seen significant growth in recent years across its 5-branch network located throughout Co. Limerick and Tipperary. The Role Tipperary Credit Union is seeking applications for the role of Credit Control Officer, on a permanent, full-time basis. The base location of the role is in Tipperary Town, with flexibility to travel and work throughout the branch network, as required. Reporting to the Senior Credit Control Officer, the Credit Control Officer works as part of the credit control team. The role supports the implementation of Tipperary Credit Unions Credit Control Policy and procedures, ensuring compliance and contributing to the effective management of accounts in arrears. The primary focus of this position is to assist in monitoring overdue accounts, supporting members in arrears, and helping to minimise financial risk to the credit union. The Credit Control Officer plays an important role in identifying and assessing credit control risks within the lending portfolio and supporting actions to mitigate these risks in line with policy and regulatory requirements. This role requires a professional and confidential approach, strong attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively within the team to achieve credit control objectives. Requirements Ideally at least 1 years experience in credit control or accounts receivable, with exposure to MARP or arrears resolution processes. Preferably experience in a credit union or regulated financial services environment. QFA qualification or working towards the same. Confident making outbound calls, handling challenging conversations with empathy and fairness. Strong administration, organisational skills, and attention to detail. Numerical and analytical ability for reconciliations and payment plans. Excellent communication (verbal and written), including negotiation skills. Ability to prioritise tasks, meet deadlines, and work independently as a self-starter. Problem-solving mindset; able to propose practical solutions. Member-focused, aligned with Credit Union values. Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook). Fluent in spoken and written English. Collaborative and approachable, with strong teamwork skills and a commitment to continuous improvement. Full clean driving licence and access to a vehicle are desirable as travel between branches may be required.
