POST: STAFF NURSE / ENHANCED NURSE
Permanent Full Time – 75 hours a fortnight
Location: Strokestown, Elphin, Tulsk, Ballinagare & Ballaghaderreen areas.
The Role
Staff Nurses and Enhanced Staff Nurses provide key support, advocacy, and development for adults with intellectual disabilities, autism, or complex needs. They work within residential, respite, day settings or community services, promoting independence, encouraging community participation, and supporting informed choice and positive risk-taking.
Qualifications & Experience
A current Live Register Certificate from the NMBI (An Bord Altranais), RNID or RGN qualification is essential.
A full clean manual Driving Licence is required; a Class D1 licence may also be needed and support will be provided to obtain it if not already held.
Experience working with people with intellectual disability, autism, or complex needs is desirable; induction and training will be provided.
Fluency in verbal and written English and proficiency in basic IT skills are essential.
Working Hours
1 x Permanent Full Time 75 hours a fortnight. All posts are based on a 14‑day duty roster; duty includes days, evenings, weekends, public holidays, sleepovers, and night duty to meet service needs.
Annual Leave
24 days pro‑rata per annum (pro‑rata for part‑time). Appropriate service‑related leave will be granted after 5 and 10 years’ service respectively.
Remuneration
Staff Nurse – €37,788 x 12 increments (€54,412 per annum). Long Service Increment €56,032 per annum (pro‑rata for part‑time) after 3 years.
Enhanced Nurse – €44,811 x 7 increments (€56,200 per annum). Long Service Increment €57,846 per annum (pro‑rata for part‑time) after 3 years. Additional payments for weekends, public holidays, and sleep‑ins/night duty are provided. A location allowance of €2,637 per annum (pro‑rata for part‑time) applies when 75% of the persons supported have a severe or profound intellectual disability.
