Automation Maintenance Engineer

The Role:
BnM is hiring an Automation Maintenance Engineer to manage the Automation Maintenance function across the organisation and to achieve maximum service availability, efficiency and safe systems of work in a 24x7 environment. The Automation Maintenance Engineer will manage procurement of appropriate spare parts in line with budget and operation of a computerised maintenance management system. They will also be responsible for the day-to-day management of the team. Success in this role will be measured by timely issue resolution, accurately diagnosing root causes and avoidance of repeat issues, contributing to the overall success of the department and organisation.
The main duties and responsibilities of the role will include the following:
Ensure maintenance plans and targets for the team are achieved safely, economically and within the environmental limits of the generating assets. Ensure all maintenance functions are carried out under site specific safety rules. Preparation of method statements and risk assessments for specific tasks.
Recording of Preventative Maintenance (PM) tasks into the maintenance management system, ensure PM's and defects are completed in an efficient and timely manner. Recording and analysis of equipment maintenance history in striving to maximise availability of assets.
Modify DCS and PLC automation systems as required and for new projects. Ensure that all modifications to control systems are updated on electrical drawings, DCS drawings and to appropriate personnel.
Ensure that the emissions monitoring system maintenance is carried out in line with procedures to ensure maximum reliability. Maintain adequate stocks of strategic spares to cover breakdown of instruments.
Actively identify vulnerabilities and work closely with IT/OT security teams to implement mitigations and ensure the control environment remains protected against cyber threats in line with OT security standards and NIS2 compliance requirements.
Ensure that control systems are replaced or updated before they become obsolete and parts are unavailable.

Proactively participate in the Performance Management process to ensure delivery of own, and the wider team's objectives.
What we're looking for:
The ideal candidate will possess the following qualification, skills, knowledge, and attributes:
Third level engineering qualification and / or relevant process experience.5+ years’ industry experience with Instrument Control / Automation.Experience with third party support providers in delivering upgrades and other projects.
Understanding of Distributed Control Systems (DCS), Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA), Programmable Logic Controller (PLCs), RTU and similar technology.Experience in Instrument Control / Automation in operations of Power Plant and Wind Farms desirable.
