Due to continued growth, we are seeking an experienced Senior Structural Engineer to join our Structures team, based in Limerick, Galway or Dublin.
The Role
As a Senior Structural Engineer, you will play a key leadership role in the delivery of complex structural engineering projects from concept through to completion. You will provide technical expertise, mentor junior engineers, interface directly with clients and stakeholders, and contribute to the ongoing growth and success of the business.
This role is ideally suited to a chartered engineer with extensive experience who enjoys combining hands‑on technical work with project leadership and team development.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and oversee the structural design of projects using Eurocodes across steel, concrete, timber and masonry.
Review, check and approve structural calculations, drawings and specifications produced by junior engineers.
Prepare and oversee tender documentation and tender assessments.
Coordinate structural inputs with architects, civil engineers, M&E engineers and other design disciplines.
Review and coordinate Revit and Navisworks models to ensure interdisciplinary alignment.
Prepare technical reports and communicate design solutions clearly to clients and stakeholders.
Manage project delivery, including programme, resourcing, budget control and quality assurance.
Maintain and develop strong client relationships and contribute to business development opportunities.
Carry out site inspections, BCAR inspections and reports, and assist with ancillary certification.
Prepare Designer Risk Assessments and liaise with the PSDP in line with Health & Safety requirements.
Mentor and support graduate and intermediate engineers, fostering technical development and best practice.
Ensure compliance with our Quality Management System, Safety Management System and Environmental Management System.
About You
Honours Degree (Level 8 minimum) in Structural Engineering or Civil Engineering with a strong structural focus.
Strong understanding of structural mechanics and advanced design principles.
Proven ability to lead projects and manage technical teams.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Strong commercial awareness, including fee management, budgets and programme delivery.
Highly proficient in industry‑standard software including Autodesk Robot, Tekla Structural Designer, CADS A3D, Tedds, and MS Office tools.
Experience working within structured project management, quality and safety systems.
