One of our esteemed Public Sector clients is currently seeking a Clerk of Works to join their team in Killarney. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced professional to play a key role in ensuring quality control and compliance across large scale construction projects. The position is an initial 6 month contract, with potential for extension to 12 months. Responsibilities
9. Provide meticulous observation and day-to-day supervision of Capital Works & Minor Capital Works, delivering detailed weekly reports on all relevant aspects of the projects.
10. Implement the Permit-to-Work procedure and coordinate with staff for the management of interfacing, shutdowns, connections, and commissioning of services and building works.
11. Assist in the accurate interpretation and implementation of all documents, drawings, specifications, and other contract documents.
12. Inspect workmanship, service installations, and materials, diligently recording any unacceptable work and informing the Buildings & Maintenance Manager accordingly.
13. Supervise and liaise with all trade staff, General Operatives, and associated trades involved in maintenance, repair, and alteration of services, including external contractors.
14. Supervise and control external/internal contractors, especially in relation to extensions, alterations of existing buildings, and services, as well as new build projects.
15. Identify and maintain an up-to-date schedule of remedial items for all projects.
16. Assist in obtaining all required test and commissioning reports from the contractor to verify the correct operation of the systems involved.
17. Keep comprehensive records of weather conditions and other relevant information.
18. Maintain records for day work rates, including staff numbers, times, and dates.
19. Clearly document day-to-day happenings on-site, with a focus on variations, variation orders, site instructions, queries, and progress through a comprehensive photograph diary.
20. Review, comment, and update project safety files, constructed drawings, and Operating and Maintenance Manuals for accuracy.
21. Keep Safety Statements up to date with risk assessments.
Requirements
22. Possessing a relevant degree in Engineering, Surveying, or Architecture
23. Have 5 years' experience in the construction and maintenance of large complex buildings
24. Hold a valid Safe Pass Certificate
