Purpose of the Post The Physiotherapist, Senior in Cardiac Rehabilitation will:
Lead and coordinate and deliver high quality physiotherapy services for the patients attending cardiac rehabilitation both on site in NGH and off site in a community setting in accordance with the mission, values and strategic plan of the organisation.
Provide assessment, diagnosis, treatment, education and discharge from the service with appropriate self-management and signposting.
Provide mentoring and supervision of physiotherapists within the service The Physiotherapist, Senior in MSK OPD will: Lead and coordinate the MSK OPD services in NGH in accordance with the mission, values and strategic plan of the Organisation.
Provide mentoring and supervision of physiotherapists within the service Eligibility Criteria 1.
Statutory Registration, Professional Qualifications, Experience, etc
(a) Candidates for appointment must:
(i)Be registered, or be eligible for registration, on the Physiotherapists Register maintained by the Physiotherapists Registration Board at CORU.

(ii) Have three years full time (or an aggregate of three years full time) post qualification clinical experience.
AND
(iii) Have the requisite knowledge and ability (including a high standard of suitability and professional ability) for the proper discharge of the duties of the office.
AND
(iv) Provide proof of Statutory Registration on the Physiotherapists Register
maintained by the Physiotherapists Registration Board at CORU before a
contract of employment can be issued.

Annual Registration
(i) On appointment, practitioners must maintain annual registration on Physiotherapists Register maintained by the Physiotherapists Registration Board at CORU
AND
(ii) Practitioners must confirm annual registration with CORU to the HSE by way of the annual Patient Safety Assurance Certificate (PSAC).

Health A candidate for and any person holding the office must be fully competent and capable of undertaking the duties attached to the office and be in a state of health such as would indicate a reasonable prospect of ability to render regular and efficient service.

Character Each candidate for and any person holding the office must be of good character.
Note 1*: Section 91 candidates are individuals who qualified before 30 September **** and have been engaged in the practice of the profession in the Republic of Ireland for a minimum of 2 years fulltime (or an aggregate of 2 years fulltime), between 30th September **** and 30th September **** are considered to be Section 91 applicants under the Health and Social Care Professionals Act ****. Post Specific Requirements: The Physiotherapist, Senior, CR & MSK will:
Demonstrate breadth and depth of experience in the assessment and treatment of patients with cardiac conditions and have up to date knowledge of the evidence underpinning the treatment of these conditions Proven experience in the assessment for and delivery of group based exercise programmes ·Demonstrate evidence of continuing professional development relevant to the area of cardiology/CR Demonstrate evidence of experience within the Irish Acute Hospital setting Demonstrate depth and breadth of experience in MSK injury assessment and treatment and have up to date knowledge of the evidence underpinning the treatment of these conditions Demonstrate evidence of continuing professional development relevant to the area of MSK injuries.
