The role holder is responsible for managing, monitoring and liaising with key stakeholders and related parties in the development and delivery of a large scale rail project managing the design, planning, procurement, construction and operations. The role holder is pivotal in ensuring that all requirements align seamlessly with the programme's operational goals, sponsor expectations and stringent safety standards.Principal AccountabilitiesManaging the delivery of the rail project through the various stages of the project life cycle, from concept development to completion of implementationLiase and coordinate meetings between M100, M400 and M500 project teams to ensure alignment on timelines, deliverables, and integration pointsReview the scopes of the interfacing series contracts (eg. M400 to M500 or M500 to M400) to ensure that they align with the overall objectives and requirements of the packageOversee and manage the delivery of package activities and deliverablesAdminister the contracts for several projects as part of a programme and;Monitor, track and report on project expenditure, schedule, milestones, change and qualityIdentify, assess, and mitigate risks associated with operational railway interfacesFacilitate collaboration and integration among multidisciplinary programme teamsEnsure compliance with planning and procurement policies across all related project activities.Advocate for continuous improvement, taking advantage of opportunities as they arisePerform additional tasks, activities or other duties as may be required or assigned as part of the roleQualifications15+ years’ experience in project management activities with at least 7 years’ experience including activities across the project lifecycle ideally within significant procurement activities through to completion in high valuerail projects or projects of a similar scale/complexity.Construction management expertise.Commercial and financial acumen, including pre & post contract management.Leadership and management experience of medium scale, diverse teams.Experience of managing relationships with key senior stakeholders.Excellent verbal and written communication skills to facilitate clear and consistent dialogue between all parties involved.Ability to govern and drive project & programme outcomes to ensure high quality service.Ability to manage technical outputs to drive efficiency.Knowledge of how carbon and sustainability considerations will shape the outlook of the projects & programmes.Strong project management skills to oversee the planning, execution, and completion of the project.Ability to effectively engage with and manage relationships with various stakeholders, including customers, regulatory bodies, and internal teams.Excellent verbal and written communication skills to facilitate clear and consistent dialogue between all parties involved.Proficiency in gathering, documenting, and analysing project requirements to ensure they align with customer and operational needs.Expertise in identifying, assessing, and mitigating risks associated with the project.Strong collaboration skills to work effectively with multidisciplinary teams and ensure cohesive project delivery.Ability to identify issues and develop effective solutions to keep the project on track.Understanding of railway systems, including design, operations, and safety standards.Experience in quality assurance processes to ensure that project deliverables meet the required standards.Flexibility to adapt to changing project requirements and environments.Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to influence and relate to individuals and groups – both technical and non-technical.Strong analytical and organisational skills.Ability to govern and drive outcomes to ensure high quality service.Formal Education QualificationsDemonstrable academic qualifications (NVQ Level 7 or 8) or equivalentProfessional MembershipsProfessional institution Incorporated level or equivalent.Chartered Project Professional (APM or equivalent) or Programme Management Professional (PMI or equivalent).Additional InformationAdditional InformationWhat we offer you:Competitive remuneration and attractive range of benefitsPension27 days Annual leaveOpportunity to work on impactful and innovative projectsCareer development opportunities both in Ireland and globallyOpportunity to work with a diverse group of talented and collaborative colleaguesOur inspired people share our vision and mission.
