Weltec is a leading Engineering and Process ContractorRole / Requirements:Weltec Engineering is seeking experienced Workshop Supervisors to oversee the day‑to‑day operations of our Waterford-based workshops. As one of Ireland’s leading Mechanical and Electrical Engineering companies, Weltec Engineering Ltd delivers complex, high‑quality projects across the Healthcare, Pharmaceutical, Medical Device, Public Works, Industrial, and Commercial sectors. This role is a key leadership position within our organisation, ensuring the efficient, safe, and high‑standard operation of both our Carbon and Stainless Steel workshops.Key Responsibilities and Duties:Responsibility for the smooth running of the workshops (Carbon & Stainless) and its employeesEnsuring that Safety, Quality, objectives are met in a timely and efficient manner.Scheduling of works from commencement through to completion including planning, materials resources, equipment, plant etc.Responsibility for complete production from final drawings to product shipment.Attendance at management meetings and providing updates on progressPrioritise workflow to eliminate constraints and potential issues. (Lean Principles)Liaise with Plant Manager for the maintenance of all workshop equipmentMaintenance of records and documentation to comply with standards and certificationsPlanning manpower needs/managing staff performance, timekeeping, productivity, quality etc.Overseeing staff training requirementsLiaising with customers from time to time as requiredSuggest opportunities to improve workshop efficiency and productivity where possibleOverseeing loading and unloading of deliveriesUtilise Weltec’ Safety Observation system (SOR) and Safety Intervention System safety and implement action plans to prevent recurrenceEnsuring opening and closing of workshopsKey Skills and Competencies:Trade requirement in pipefitting, fabrication or other related trade is desired but not essentialPrevious workshop supervisory experience would be an advantageAbility to work as part of a team and supervise crewTake ownership of the tasks, materials and crew from beginning to endPersonable and good communicator both written and verbalHardworking and capable of solving problems while working under pressure for delivery.Ability to motivate craftworkers to achieve required targets and delegate as requiredHave or develop an in-depth knowledge of the plant and equipment being used for fabrication and assemblyBe proficient with MS Word, Excel, PowerPointA competitive salary will be offered to the successful candidate, along with the opportunity to join a highly reputable engineering company with a strong pipeline of diverse and challenging projects.Please note, we do not accept CVs or candidate profiles from recruitment agencies where Weltec terms of business have not been signed.
