Technical Director eCommerce Systems
The role involves overseeing the design and implementation of scalable, secure, and high-performing eCommerce systems and platforms in collaboration with vendors such as Magento, Shopify, SANA, BigCommerce, and others. This includes leading the design and development of eCommerce systems and platforms to meet business requirements and industry standards.
* Collaborate with vendors to integrate and optimize solutions using various eCommerce platforms, ensuring effective vendor management and service delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
* Oversee the technical direction of eCommerce systems and platforms, ensuring they align with business objectives and industry standards.
* Lead cross-functional teams to design and develop scalable, secure, and high-performing eCommerce systems and platforms.
* Evaluate vendor performance and ensure compliance with service level agreements (SLAs), identifying areas for improvement and implementing changes as needed.
Working closely with product and commercial teams:
* Work closely with product and commercial teams to understand business needs and translate them into technical solutions, ensuring alignment between technical solutions and business objectives.
* Collaborate on the development of product roadmaps and strategies to support eCommerce initiatives, driving business growth and revenue.
Project Delivery:
* Lead and manage eCommerce technology projects from initiation to completion, ensuring timely delivery within budget and scope.
* Define project scope, objectives, and deliverables in collaboration with cross-functional teams, monitoring progress and addressing any issues or risks that may arise.
Security & Compliance:
* Ensure all eCommerce solutions comply with industry standards and regulatory requirements, implementing and maintaining security protocols to protect sensitive data and systems.
* Conduct regular audits and assessments to identify and mitigate security risks, ensuring continuous improvement and enhancement of eCommerce systems.
Site Performance:
* Monitor the performance of eCommerce systems and platforms to ensure optimal operation and user experience, identifying and resolving performance issues to enhance site performance.
* Implement improvements and upgrades to optimise system performance, ensuring seamless customer interactions and experiences.
Monitoring & Analytics:
* Utilize monitoring tools and analytics to track eCommerce system performance and identify trends, generating reports and insights to support decision-making and continuous improvement.
* Develop and implement strategies to optimise system performance and efficiency, driving business growth and revenue.
Customer Support:
* Provide exceptional customer support to internal stakeholders and eCommerce users, addressing and resolving technical issues promptly to minimise disruption to operations.
* Implement support processes and procedures to enhance customer satisfaction, ensuring a positive customer experience.
Backlog Management:
* Manage and prioritise the technology backlog to ensure timely delivery of features and improvements, collaborating with product and commercial teams to define and refine backlog items based on business priorities and customer feedback.
* Monitor progress and adjust priorities as needed to align with business goals and objectives.
Requirements:
* 7+ years of experience in eCommerce technology leadership, preferably in a technical director or similar role.
* Proven track record of designing and implementing successful eCommerce systems and platforms, driving business growth and revenue.
* Strong understanding of eCommerce technologies, including platforms like Magento, Shopify, SANA, and BigCommerce.
