Senior Laboratory Operations Manager
This role is responsible for leading a team to provide scientific support activities in accordance with health and safety guidelines, GLS and local agreements. The ideal candidate will have experience in managing laboratory teams, ensuring productivity, quality and technical delivery.
About the Role
The Senior Laboratory Operations Manager will lead the Lab Services team to ensure overall consistency in areas of technical delivery and inter-team and inter-department collaboration. They will be responsible for developing, coaching, motivating and maintaining high morale among team members.
* Carry out all scientific support activities.
* Deliver operational laboratory support managing team workload and service levels.
* Preventative maintenance, cleaning & documentation of laboratory instruments.
* Train and mentor new Lab Services Associates.
* Organize training programs and ensure full cross-training.
* Coordinate and support the Lab Services team to ensure productivity, quality, documentation, work schedules, safety and housekeeping.
* Communicate daily with site services managers.
* Escalate issues for review and resolution support.
Requirements
The ideal candidate will possess excellent leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and develop a team. Strong communication and interpersonal skills are also essential. Additionally, they should have experience in laboratory operations and management, including preventative maintenance, quality control and process improvement.
