Role Overview:
As our Crèche Cook, you will be responsible for preparing and serving nutritious meals and snacks in line with HSE and HACCP standards. You will work closely with our management team to ensure all dietary needs are met in a safe, hygienic, and homely kitchen environment.
Key Responsibilities:
* Follow weekly menus that are healthy, balanced, and suitable for children aged 1 year to 5 yearsof age
* Prepare and cook daily meals and snacks in accordance with dietary and allergy requirements
* Maintain a clean, safe, and organised kitchen in line with food safety standards and HACCP procedures
* Order and manage stock efficiently, minimising waste
* Maintain daily food logs, temperature checks, and cleaning schedules
* Collaborate with crèche staff and management on menu planning and nutrition education
* Cater to special dietary requirements, including allergies and cultural preferences
* Comply with all relevant health and safety and food hygiene regulations
* Welcome regular kitchen inspections and audits with professionalism and readiness
Requirements:
* Previous experience in a similar role, preferable
* Qualification in Food Hygiene and HACCP (can be provided if necessary)
* Ability to plan meals and adapt recipes for dietary restrictions (e.g., dairy-free, gluten-free, vegetarian)
* Strong organisational skills and attention to cleanliness and detail
* Friendly, flexible, and reliable team player
* Garda Vetting and 2 references will be required prior to employment commencing
