About Your New Role
Hard Services Manager (Electrical) for a well-known, high-profile financial services client, you will oversee the day-to-day delivery of all hard services on site, with a particular focus on electrical systems and compliance. You’ll lead a team of skilled engineers and manage subcontractors to ensure all planned, reactive, and project works are completed safely, on time, and within budget. This role will see you take responsibility for the reliability, performance, and statutory compliance of all electrical and mechanical systems while driving continuous improvement across the contract.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead and develop the on-site technical team to deliver all M&E services, with a focus on electrical maintenance and compliance.
* Manage day-to-day hard services operations, including both self-delivered and subcontracted works.
* Oversee all PPM, reactive, and project works to ensure statutory and client compliance, efficiency, and safety.
* Ensure all electrical systems — including HV/LV distribution, lighting, life safety systems, and standby power (UPS/Generator) — operate to optimal standards.
* Manage and control operational budgets, ensuring financial accountability and cost efficiency.
* Provide expert electrical guidance to both internal teams and clients, supporting technical problem-solving and project scoping.
* Drive improvements in energy efficiency, asset performance, and lifecycle planning.
* Lead on Health & Safety compliance, electrical testing regimes, permits, and incident investigations.
* Maintain ISO certifications (9001, 14001, 18001, 50001) in line with company and client requirements.
* Manage third-party supplier performance and ensure all statutory documentation is current and accurate.
What Skills You Need
* Fully qualified
* Electrician or Electrical Engineer is ESSENTIAL.
* Strong technical knowledge of electrical systems, including HV/LV, UPS, BMS, emergency lighting, and life safety systems.
* Sound understanding of mechanical systems and HVAC within a facilities environment.
* Minimum 5 years’ experience in a similar hard services or technical management role in a commercial or critical environment.
* Proven experience managing subcontractors and technical teams.
* Strong understanding of electrical legislation, testing regimes, and compliance standards.
* Experienced in budget control, supplier management, and client reporting.
* Excellent IT skills with working knowledge of BMS, CAFM/CMMS systems, and building performance tools.
