The Birr Scientific & Heritage Foundation is recruiting an experienced Marketing Executive to join their small but growing team at Birr Castle Demesne.
Reporting to the Visitor Experience & Operations Manager, the role aims to achieve marketing and sales goals set by the Foundation's board, focusing on increasing market presence and visitor numbers to maintain its status as a unique tourist attraction in Co Offaly and the Hidden Heartlands.
Location: Onsite Birr Castle Demesne, Birr, Co Offaly (some hybrid work may be accommodated)
Contract Type: Permanent Part-Time – 24 hours per week
Job Description Create and develop the digital marketing strategy for Birr Castle Demesne, including planning and implementing campaigns across multiple channels.
Manage all social media advertising and content calendar, generating engaging, relevant, and on-brand content.
Ensure delivery of photo and video assets, maintaining an up-to-date content bank.
Provide analytical reports using various tools to track campaign performance, with recommendations for improvement.
Design and optimize email marketing campaigns for members and segmented audiences.
Oversee SEM and SEO campaigns, including keyword research and implementation.
Manage online reputation by monitoring review websites and advising senior management.
Handle CRM system daily, including contact management, segmentation, email marketing, automations, and reporting.
Create engaging copy for digital channels, campaigns, and promotions.
Update and maintain the website on WordPress, ensuring all information is current and proofread.
Support digital PR activities, including familiarity trips and facilitating groups.
Collaborate with tourism and educational partners to create engaging content.
Assist with event planning, coordination, and ad-hoc projects.
Attend Fáilte Ireland digital marketing workshops and collaborate on marketing developments.
Work with internal teams to promote seasonal activities that drive sales across departments like café, retail, and events.
Requirements Third-level qualification in Digital Marketing.
Minimum of 2-3 years experience in a similar role.
Excellent knowledge of social media platforms and best practices.
Strong experience with data analytics and content creation tools, including Adobe Creative Suite and Canva.
Practical knowledge of managing SEO/SEM campaigns.
Experience with marketing databases, email marketing, and Google Analytics.
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
Full driving license required.
Preferred Experience Photography and videography skills, including shooting and editing content for social media platforms like Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, and YouTube.
Experience working in tourism or related organizations (preferred but not essential).
Experience tracking content performance using tools like Google Analytics and LinkedIn Ads, SEO, and keyword research.
