Job Description
Role: Education & Partnerships – Business Development Executive
Duration: 3‑year fixed‑term contract
Salary: €67,000 - €77,000 DOE + Benefits

Opportunity Identification & Portfolio Growth
Lead the development of new education courses delivered by RCPI and external partners, ensuring alignment with RCPI’s strategic priorities.
Manage the design and rollout of a new joint international postgraduate medical training programme, working closely with academic and clinical partners.
Conduct market research, competitor analysis, and customer insights to identify unmet needs and emerging opportunities.
Generate and evaluate new opportunities for portfolio growth in collaboration with RCPI’s Institutes, Faculties, and key stakeholders.
Create new revenue opportunities in excess of €1 million per year.
Stakeholder Engagement & Relationship Management
Cross‑Functional Collaboration
Quality Review & Continuous Improvement
Commercial & Strategic Planning.
Identify and assess opportunities for new education, international training and examination programmes, that support RCPI’s strategic and commercial growth.
Ensure all new offerings are commercially viable, scalable, and aligned with RCPI’s long‑term growth objectives.
Prioritise business development opportunities based on strategic value, market demand, and resource requirements.
Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including academic partners, faculty leads, healthcare organisations, and international collaborators.
Facilitate structured idea generation processes with Institutes and Faculties to maintain a strong pipeline of innovative product concepts.
Communicate product strategies, progress, and insights to senior leadership and cross‑functional teams.
Work closely with the New Business Development Manager, Digital Manager, Marketing, Education, Examinations and Operations teams to ensure seamless proposition development and launch.
Coordinate cross‑functional project teams to deliver products and services on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
Support marketing and digital teams in developing go‑to‑market strategies, messaging, and promotional plans.
Review and assess the performance of existing education products and services, identifying opportunities for enhancement, repositioning, or retirement.
Use customer feedback, learner analytics, and market insights to drive continuous improvement across the medical education and services portfolio.
Ensure all products and services meet regulatory, accreditation, and quality assurance requirements.
Requirements
Skills & Experience
Proven 3‑5+ years of experience in business development, portfolio growth, partnerships, or innovation within education, healthcare, or a related sector.
Strong commercial acumen with experience building business cases and evaluating financial viability.
Excellent stakeholder management and relationship building skills.
Ability to translate market insights into commercially viable growth opportunities and new offerings.
Strong project management skills with experience leading cross‑functional teams.
Exceptional communication, analytical, and problem‑solving abilities.
Experience in medical education or professional training (desirable but not essential).
Qualifications
A relevant primary degree is required; a postgraduate qualification and/or is desirable.
Project management qualification is desirable.
