Purpose of the Post:
Under the leadership of the Head of Older Persons Services, the General Manager for Older Persons and the Director of Nursing Band 2 Older Persons Services, the post holder will be responsible for managing the delivery of services in line with statutory requirements, resource allocation and service plan targets.
· To ensure the efficient, effective and safe delivery of health and personal social services for residents and service users, within national and RHA frameworks and available resources.
· To ensure services are delivered to the highest standards within available resources.
· Provide leadership to staff in delivering services consistent with the new model of care to ensure integrated service for residents and service users.
· Provide clinical leadership in the delivery and governance of integrated service provision, ensuring safety and quality of service.
· Lead a nurse management team which supports collective responsibility and action in all aspects of Health and Personal Social Service delivery.
· S/he will support and ensure high quality clinical learning environments to support the Higher Education Institutes (HEIs) specialist clinical placements for undergraduate and post graduate nursing and social care programmes.
· S/he will provide strategic leadership and will empower staff to support residents and service users to continue to exercise their independence.
This role may evolve as the structures within Older Persons Services are further developed and established.
