Must Haves
Proven experience in business development or project management within a CDMO environment, with a strong track record in managing and developing large pharma clients;
Or experience in sourcing/outsourcing management within a large pharmaceutical company, with a deep understanding of CDMO sourcing, externalization strategies, and outsourced project management.
Solid understanding of CMC processes and knowledge of API development and manufacturing.
Extensive commercial experience in Ireland, with a strong understanding of the local pharmaceutical and biotech landscape.

Responsibilities
Build and maintain strong, long‑term relationships with key large pharma clients in Ireland, serving as a primary point of contact and supporting the company’s large pharma strategy.
Drive selected business development initiatives within assigned large pharma accounts, identifying and converting opportunities aligned with strategic priorities.
Develop and expand new business opportunities with local biotech and biopharma companies, building a sustainable pipeline in Ireland.
Partner with internal teams (R&D, Project Management, Operations, and Manufacturing) to deliver tailored solutions and ensure successful project execution.
Lead client engagements including meetings, site visits, and technical/commercial discussions, proactively addressing client needs and potential challenges.
Support commercial negotiations including pricing, contract terms, and scope alignment, ensuring compliance with company policies and industry regulations.
Maintain regular communication with clients to strengthen relationships, provide updates, and position Porton’s capabilities effectively.
Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and client forums to enhance brand presence and generate new business leads.
Requirements
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Chemistry; PhD preferred.
At least 5-8 years of business development experience in the industry.
Established network within the pharma, biotech, or CDMO ecosystem in Ireland.
Demonstrated ability to independently originate and expand business opportunities.
Strong commercial acumen, with experience in client engagement, negotiation, and deal execution.
Customer dedication to relentlessly seek and distill solutions from complexity.
Mindful listener and communicator (written and oral).
