Working Hours: 37.5 hours per week
Hybrid working: Up to 3 days per week

Tenure: Permanent appointment, subject to successful passing of the probationary period.

About the Job
Reporting to the manager, the successful candidate will undertake varied roles, working to tight deadlines in a dynamic environment.
Duties & Responsibilities
* Leading the preparation of consultation and decision papers, reports, and presentations for internal and external audiences, including senior management.
* Working as part of a team and on specific cross-functional projects.
* Engaging constructively with internal and external stakeholders to promote CRU objectives related to consumer empowerment and protection.
* Collaborating with NI, GB, or EU counterparts on all-island or EU policy, markets, or industry developments.
* Developing knowledge of the Irish and international energy sectors to inform work, with a focus on retail markets.
* Staying informed on policy developments and industry best practices in Ireland and internationally.
* Researching policy issues, analyzing data/trends, and suggesting policy actions.
* Analyzing energy data spreadsheets and financial models.
* Mentoring Graduate Analysts and Analysts, sharing knowledge and expertise.
* Performing other functions as required to meet CRU's objectives.
Qualifications & Skills
The following are required by the application deadline:
* Honours degree (NFQ Level 8 or equivalent), preferably in economics, public policy, climate change, sustainability, law, engineering, business, or related fields.
* Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a regulatory or relevant role.
* Knowledge of policy frameworks in the energy sector.
* Experience in a regulator, customer care, or government organization.
* Ability to draft clear, concise documentation on complex issues.
* Familiarity with Irish/EU legal frameworks, including the Climate Action Plan and Clean Energy Package.

*Starting salary: €60,000
* Salary scale: €60,000 - €75,000
* Entry at the minimum point of the scale.
* Salary adjustments may follow government pay policies.
* Different pay/conditions may apply if previously a civil/public servant.
* Annual increments based on performance.
