About the Role
Our client, an expert in their field with a strong client profile in Ireland, is seeking an experienced Operations Director to oversee all aspects of their operations. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in senior management roles, strategic thinking, and leadership skills.
This role requires a deep understanding of operational principles, including process optimization, resource management, and risk mitigation. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing operational strategies, managing people, financial, and material resources, and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and industry standards.
Responsibilities
* Operational Strategy Development: Develop and implement operational strategies to achieve the company's short-term and long-term goals.
* Process Optimization: Identify opportunities to streamline operations, improve efficiency, and reduce costs without compromising quality.
* Leadership and Team Management: Provide leadership, guidance, and mentorship to the operations team, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
* Resource Management: Manage people, financial, and material resources effectively to support operational objectives and maximise productivity.
* Collaboration and Coordination: Collaborate with other departments, including finance, marketing, sales, and IT, to ensure seamless coordination and alignment of operational activities.
* Performance Monitoring: Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure operational performance and track progress towards goals. Analyse data and metrics to identify areas for improvement and take corrective actions as needed.
* Risk Management: Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and industry standards. Identify and mitigate operational risks to protect the organization's assets and reputation.
* Vendor Management: Evaluate and manage relationships with third-party vendors and service providers to ensure quality, cost-effective solutions that meet the organization's needs.
* Continuous Improvement: Lead initiatives for continuous improvement, innovation, and best practices adoption across the organization.
Requirements
* Valid EU Driving License.
* Degree in Engineering or a related field.
* Proven experience (5 years) in a senior management role overseeing operations in a similar industry.
* Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and inspire teams to achieve goals.
* Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a data-driven approach to decision-making.
* Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships and influence stakeholders at all levels of the organisation.
* Solid understanding of operational principles, including process optimization, resource management, and risk mitigation.
* Proficiency in project management tools and techniques.
* Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt to changing priorities.
