Arcadis DPS are seeking an Automation Project Engineer for a long-term contracting opportunity for a landmark project in East Cork
Purpose:
The appointed Automation Project Engineer will be critical in ensuring the success of the EPCMV project. Your ability to work collaboratively with other members of the project team will be essential in achieving project goals and ensuring regulatory compliance. You will manage the implementation, installation, and validation of automation systems that align with project objectives and meet regulatory requirements and industry standards. As Automation Project Engineer, you will ensure that the computer systems used in the project operate in a compliant manner.
Scope:
* Manage the implementation of automation solutions that align with project objectives, CCP, and KPI’s.
* Collaborate with other construction disciplines to ensure automation activities are progressed.
* Oversee the installation and commissioning of automation systems during construction by the system integrator(s) (SI).
* Support and assist in developing commissioning/qualification packages/documentation by the System Integrator (Automation aspects).
* Coordinate with the SI to ensure site commissioning and qualification activities are executed.
* Provide technical support and troubleshoot issues during construction, commissioning, and testing phases.
* Maintain accurate records and document all implementation decisions.
* Review all automation system change order requests for technical accuracy and approve/reject as appropriate.
* Provide coordination and direction to the project commissioning team and system integrators to meet project schedules.
* Coordinate and witness validation tests to ensure automation systems operate as intended.
* Review SI validation reports to confirm testing results and compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
* Offer technical insights and recommendations to keep automation systems in a validated state.
Responsibilities:
* Represent the project OT/Automation team for the delivery of large PCS installations.
* Read and understand deliverables from system integrators and equipment vendors related to automation, such as loop sheets, data sheets, instrument types/applications, PID algorithms, ISA symbology, system interlocks, instrument index, I/O lists, layouts, and system architecture.
* Provide automation SME/expert knowledge during commissioning/qualification and testing protocol reviews.
* Coordinate with Construction and C&Q teams for automation activities and tracking.
* Manage the PCS/BMS system integrator and VPE automation aspects of projects.
* Review all implementation and CSV deliverables related to PCS/BMS implementation.
* Periodically visit vendor facilities.
* Participate in client site meetings and daily construction/commissioning updates (WWWP daily whiteboards).
* Align SI weekly work plans with project objectives.
