These tools are critical for bid pricing and rebate forecasting and are currently Excel-based. You will translate actuarial and underwriting logic into scalable, cloud-based applications with user-friendly front ends, working closely with underwriters, actuaries, technology, and analytics partners to ensure accuracy, transparency, and usability.Primary Responsibilities of the Senior Software Engineer - Pricing & Underwriting:Support the redesign and migration of actuarial and pricing tools from Excel into Azure-based applications.Ensure seamless integration of front-end and back-end components to deliver fully functional systemsCollaborate with UI/UX designers to create user-friendly interfaces and ensure seamless user experienceDevelop data access layers and connect to relational and or NoSQL databases (e.g., MySQL, MongoDB) for data storage retrieval, and manipulationMaintain and support CICD processes using Github Actions to test and build software artifactsResearch, evaluate, and deploy new tools, frameworks and patterns to build a sustainable Analytic platformIdentify gaps and opportunities for improvement of existing solutionsBe innovative in solution design and development to meet the needs of the businessAssist in defining product technical architectureMake accurate development effort estimates to assist management in project and resource planningCreate prototypes, proof-of-concepts & design and code reviewsCollaborate with management, quality assurance, architecture, and other development teamsWrite technical documentation and participate in production support.You will be rewarded and recognised for your performance in an environment that will challenge you and give you clear direction on what it takes to succeed in your role, as well as providing development for other roles you may be interested inRequired Qualifications of the Senior Software Engineer - Pricing & Underwriting:Bachelor's degree or equivalent experienceProven software development experienceExperience in developing applications on at least one major cloud platform (Azure preferred)Strong programming proficiency in Python, Pyspark and SQLDemonstrated ability to partner with business stakeholders to capture requirementsPreferred Qualifications of the Senior Software Engineer - Pricing & Underwriting:Experience with Azure cloud services, APIs, and relational databasesExperience working in health informatics or within the healthcare industry or prior experience with Clinical, Claim, and/or Hospital Billing Data TypesHands-on experience with GUI frameworks (React, .NET, or similar)Track record of migrating complex Excel-based tools into enterprise-ready applicationsFamiliarity with DevOps practices, CI/CD, and testing frameworksAbility to manage stakeholder expectations and balance technical and business needsSoft Skills of the Senior Software Engineer - Pricing & Underwriting:Quantitative mindset and ability to understand complex processesAbility to own solution delivery with strong organizational, time management and problem-solving skillsWorks effectively in cross-functional teams to achieve shared goalsExcellent problem-solving and communication skillsApplies a detail-oriented approach to ensure data integrity and flawless executionComfortable managing large volumes of data from disparate sources, with the ability to ensure the accuracy and reliability of the analysisPlease note you must currently be eligible to work and remain indefinitely without any restrictions in the country to which you are making an application.
