Job Title: Environmental Health Specialist
About the Role:
We are seeking a seasoned professional to join our organization as an Environmental Health Specialist. This role involves conducting site visits and office-based duties, ensuring adherence to health, safety, and environmental regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
* Develop comprehensive guidelines and documentation to ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental legislation.
* Implement and enforce required standards to safeguard employee well-being and protect the environment.
* Prepare and inspect Risk Assessment and Method Statements (RAMS) as well as Project Supervisor Construction Stage (PSCS) documentation to identify potential hazards and ensure safe work practices.
* Conduct administrative and site audits to verify adherence to contractual obligations, regulatory requirements, and EHS standards.
* Monitor compliance among specialist subcontractors, agency personnel, and direct employees to maintain a safe working environment.
* Lead and coordinate incident investigations, ensuring thorough and timely reporting of incidents, utilizing root cause analysis techniques to identify underlying causes of accidents and near-misses.
* Collaborate with stakeholders to develop and implement effective corrective and preventive measures to mitigate the risk of future incidents.
* Ensure continued compliance with relevant regulatory standards, including ISO14001 and ISO45001.
* Stay updated on changes in regulations and adapt company practices accordingly.
* Manage and maintain employee training records in collaboration with the Training Department to ensure all employees receive appropriate EHS training.
Requirements:
* Degree qualified in an Environmental Health discipline.
* Knowledge of Electrical, Mechanical, and Construction industry essential.
* 5 years' experience in a fast-paced commercial environment.
* Internal Auditing accreditation to include Integrated Management Systems (ISO14000 and ISO 45001).
* In-depth knowledge of Irish Health & Safety and Environmental legislation and regulations.
* Preferred qualifications in Train the Trainer, First Aid, Manual Handling, and DSE Assessor.
* Proficient in Microsoft Office with the ability to generate detailed monthly reports.
* Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with fluent English.
* Experience with the Construction Regulations and CDM roles, with experience working with sub-contractors.
* Ability to work well within strict deadlines.

€55K-€65k negotiable based on experience & qualifications. Full-time permanent staff role with company benefits, life assurance, pension, health insurance etc. Role will be based in client office in Blanchardstown with regular travel to client sites in Dublin.
