Location
Residential services based in Ballinasloe, Co Galway.
The Role
The Team Leader has a pivotal role in managing the day-to-day delivery of services. The Team Leader will provide leadership and supervision to teams while ensuring the development of the service is in line with Personal Outcomes Measures and HIQA standards and regulations. The main responsibilities are to assist the Team Managers, Service Coordinator and Area Manager with the management of a residential services, with resource management and staffing – including rosters, staff development, facilitating communication, professional leadership to ensure a good quality of life for the people we support.
The successful candidate must provide leadership and vision in the development of the service in line with HIQA Standards and Regulation, Personal Outcomes Measures and future service developments as well as managing the day to day running of the service.
Reporting / Responsible To
Team Manager/Service Coordinator/Area Manager.
Qualifications / Experience
* Professional qualification relevant to the Health or Social Care sectors (e.g., RNID/RMHN or a recognised (QQI) qualification in Applied Social Studies level 7).
* Appropriate Health/Social Care Management qualification desirable (QQI Level 6); if not held, must undertake within a specified time-frame.
* Previous experience of effectively managing a staff team and demonstrating a proven ability to pro‑actively lead, motivate, empower and achieve results through people.
* Minimum of 2 years post‑qualification experience in services for people with intellectual disabilities; experience of working with individuals who may exhibit behaviours of concern is required.
* Familiarity with National Standards for Residential Services for Children and Adults with Disabilities and The Health Act 2007 and related regulations.
* Demonstrated commitment to community integration and active citizenship for all people with disabilities, with experience in human rights and advocacy.
* Full clean manual driving licence (manual transmission vehicles on Irish roads).

Working Hours
Contracted hours depend on grade: 78 hours a fortnight (SCL grade) or 75 hours a fortnight (CNM1 grade). Monday to Friday, 8am‑9pm. Occasional weekend work, night duties or sleepovers may be required. On‑call commitment required. Flexibility around this will be expected.
Annual Leave
Leave granted according to agreed leave assigned to grade. Annual leave must be planned in advance with Area Manager/Service Coordinator to ensure appropriate cover.
Remuneration
Based on the salary scale attached to the grade (CNM1 or Social Care Leader).
Probation
Probationary period of nine months from date of appointment. Employment may be terminated at any time during probation if unsuitable; period may be extended at Employer’s discretion.
