How you’ll make an impact
You will be joining a team of Test Engineers responsible for testing SiriusXM software and products related to in‑vehicle infotainment systems and aftermarket SiriusXM products. The Senior Software Test Engineer will design, implement, and execute test procedures, and report logs, submit tickets, and generate reports to ensure that software programs work as intended. This position is part of the software development team and requires cooperation with software engineers, product managers, and program managers.
What you’ll do
* Work with software engineers, program managers, requirements managers, and other product stakeholders to understand product features and the complete set of requirements.
* Work closely with development teams to ensure the effectiveness and quality of the components and systems developed.
* Develop, maintain, and execute test cases, ensuring the quality and stability of the system throughout the project.
* Generate testing completion metrics and analysis, and provide status read‑outs to upper management.
* Develop, implement, maintain, and enhance test plans, test scripts, traceability matrices, and test methodologies that ensure exhaustive testing of all assigned software systems to ensure compliance with software/system specifications.
* Anticipate potential software problems by creating test scenarios.
Qualifications
* 3‑5+ years’ experience as a Test Engineer.
* Experience in test frameworks and test automation.
* Experience with tools such as Jira, Git, Charles (HTTP proxy/monitor) and other test automation tools.
* Experience with consumer or automotive client applications.
* Experience in test automation development tools.
* Application of software development life cycle concepts.
* Knowledge and application of at least one programming language.
General Skills
* History working with automation frameworks, analyzing logs, and reporting issues.
* Strong testing acumen and technical know‑how to automate the work.
* Exceptional ability to isolate & troubleshoot technical issues across the full technology stack by leveraging automated testing methodologies.
* Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
* Ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast‑paced environment.
* Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
* Knowledgeable of object‑oriented programming concepts.
