Job Title:
Management Accountant

Location:
Newcastle West, Limerick, with travel in Ireland as required to other offices

Remuneration:
€60,000-€70,000 per annum, pro rata depending on experience

Contract Details:
3-month contract (with potential to extend to 6 months), Full Time

Working Pattern:
Office-based

Reporting Line:
Financial Controller (Ireland)

Supervision:
Including, but not limited to, AP/AR bookkeepers to ensure accurate inputs and timely information, and office staff across all sites regarding queries on invoicing, billing, payroll, etc.

As part of this growth, the business is seeking a Management Accountant to take ownership of monthly accounting, enhance commercial understanding using new systems, and act as a key finance contact with the Group Finance reporting team. This is an excellent opportunity to play a central role in shaping the financial strategy of a high-growth, acquisitive organisation.

The Role

We are seeking a driven and detail-oriented individual with a passion for numbers to join the finance team as a Management Accountant. You will play a crucial role in supporting financial operations and ensuring the timely and accurate delivery of financial information.

The role is responsible for the delivery of all financial information for the Newcastle West, Limerick site, with the potential to include additional acquisitions as the business grows.

Key Responsibilities

* Prepare management accounts in line with group reporting timelines.
* Investigate and report on material variances to budget in a timely manner to Group Finance and senior stakeholders.
* Ensure payroll preparation, VAT, and general compliance deadlines are met, flagging any risks to key stakeholders.
* Post accruals, prepayments, and journals accurately and on time.
* Support month-end and year-end close processes, including liaison with auditors.
* Perform balance sheet reconciliations and prepare working papers with a clear audit trail.
* Liaise with internal stakeholders, external accountants, and the Group Finance team to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.
* Track performance against budget and act as a key business partner to senior management.
* Drive commercial awareness within the business by championing finance systems and providing job-level analysis, highlighting opportunities and process weaknesses.
* Ensure all bookkeeping tasks are up to date, supervising relevant team members and ensuring deadlines are met.
* Implement new policies and processes where appropriate, driving efficiencies while maintaining strong controls and audit trails.
* Raise sales invoices and credit notes when required.
* Complete bank and statement reconciliations and process bank payments.
* Manage credit control activities.
* Support Managing Directors and senior stakeholders as required.
* Handle ad hoc finance queries as they arise.

Qualifications and Skills

* Previous experience in a similar finance role.
* Finance qualification or background (ACA, ACCA, CPA, CIMA, or equivalent).
* Strong numerical and analytical skills with excellent attention to detail.
* Proficient in MS Excel.
* Experience with accounting software is an advantage (training will be provided if required).
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
