As General Manager, you'll be at the heart of the operation leading from the front, inspiring your team, and ensuring every department runs like clockwork. You'll collaborate closely with an experienced Store Manager and a talented management team to deliver commercial growth, maintain impeccable standards, and create an environment where staff and customers alike love to be. Key Responsibilities:
1. Oversee all daily operations, ensuring consistent excellence across every area of the store
2. Partner with the Store Manager to hit sales, margin, and service goals
3. Lead and inspire department managers and their teams to achieve their full potential
4. Analyse KPIs, identify growth opportunities, and implement actionable improvements
5. Manage budgets, control costs, and drive overall profitability
6. Ensure compliance with all company, health & safety, and food safety standards
7. Maintain exceptional store presentation, merchandising, and product availability
8. Build a strong, motivated team culture through communication and development
9. Take a hands-on approach to recruitment, training, and succession planning
The Ideal Candidate:
10. 5+ years' experience as a Store Manager or in senior grocery retail management
11. Proven ability to lead large teams and manage multi-department operations
12. Excellent commercial acumen with a solid track record of delivering KPIs
13. Strong leadership and communication skills with a proactive, can-do attitude
14. Passionate about people, retail excellence, and creating a best-in-class customer experience
15. Flexible to work across varied store hours, including weekends when required
