Safetynet Primary Care is a medical charity that delivers quality care to those marginalised in society without access to healthcare, including homeless, drug users, and migrants. Safetynet Primary Care also facilitates a network of health services working with these cohorts to ensure a coordinated approach and promote best practice. Safetynet Primary Care provides health services independently, and as a complement to the services of other NGOs and state bodies working with our target populations. Additionally, Safetynet Primary Care provides medical services to specific groupings on request from State Departments, institutions, and statutory bodies.

The successful applicant for this role would be expected to attend the full board meetings, and chair the Finance & Audit sub committee. The current Chair is still in position and will provide a comprehensive handover during a mutually agreed transition period.
*Skills:*

* Excellent communication skills
* Strategic mindset with ability to provide structured financial oversight
* Finance professional qualification and working experience
* Previous board desirable, but not essential
* Experience of Finance in the NGO sector and awareness of the requirements of the Charity Regulator Code of Conduct is desirable.

*Committee Meetings:*
The full board meets four times per year, usually February, May, September and December. Meetings take place in the evenings in Dublin, attendance is person in encouraged, although remote attendance can be facilitated on occasion if required, Meetings last approximately 2 hours. There may be occasional events during the year board members are invited to attend, these are optional.

All Trustees Are Encouraged To Join At Least One Sub Committee, Particularly In An Area Of Expertise Identified In The Board Skills Audit. There Are Currently Five Committees Which Convene Online, Usually Holding Four Meetings Per Year Depending On The Committee. Committee Meetings Last For C.1 Hour. The Current Committees Are:

* Finance & Audit Committee Sub Committee
* Clinical Governance Sub Committee
* HR Sub Committee
* Quality Standards & Research Sub Committee
* Fast Track Sub Committee (ad hoc)

Overall, it is anticipated that a board member will spend approximately 6 days per year on work for Safetynet This will include attendance at board meetings, board subcommittee meetings, the AGM, and potentially one annual board/service away day a year. Included are the consideration all relevant papers prior to each meeting

Based on annual board skills audit members will also be expected to undertake training in matters relating to their role as a director and charity trustee if required.
