Reports To Financial ControllerRole OverviewThe Senior Financial Accountant will play a key role in overseeing the financial operations of a busy motor dealership, ensuring accurate financial reporting, compliance with Irish statutory and tax requirements, and providing financial insight to support commercial decision-making. The role involves managing month-end processes, supervising junior finance staff, and liaising with external auditors, Revenue, and manufacturers.Key ResponsibilitiesFinancial Reporting & ControlPrepare accurate monthly management accounts, including profit and loss, balance sheet, and cash flow analysisOversee month-end and year-end close processesMaintain strong balance sheet control, including vehicle stock, creditors, accruals, and prepaymentsSupport annual audit process and liaise with external auditorsMotor Trade & Manufacturer ReportingManage vehicle stock accounting, including new, used, and demonstrator vehiclesReconcile manufacturer statements, bonuses, rebates, and warranty claimsEnsure accurate treatment of dealer margins, holdbacks, and incentivesMonitor stock funding, floorplan finance, and interest costsBudgeting, Forecasting & AnalysisAssist with annual budgeting and periodic forecastingProvide financial analysis on sales performance, margins, overheads, and profitability by department (Sales, Service, Parts)Support senior management with financial insights and recommendationsTeam Leadership & SystemsSupervise and mentor junior accounts staffReview work prepared by accounts assistantsAssist with finance system improvements and process efficienciesWork closely with Dealer Management Systems (DMS) and accounting softwareKey RequirementsQualifications & ExperienceFully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent)Minimum 2 years post-qualification experience, ideally within a car dealership or manufacturing environmentStrong knowledge of Irish accounting standards and tax regulationsExperience preparing statutory accounts and managing auditsSkills & CompetenciesStrong attention to detail and analytical skillsExcellent organisational and time-management abilitiesCommercially minded with the ability to communicate financial information clearlyStrong Excel and accounting software skillsExperience with dealer management systems (advantageous)What We OfferCompetitive salary and benefits packageOpportunity to work in a well-established and growing dealershipSupportive team environment with career development opportunitiesApply online or email your CV to
