Job Summary:
The Mechanical Fitter will assist the Estate & Construction Manager in maintaining and safely operating the estate's fleet of machinery and vehicles. Key duties include performing and overseeing maintenance, managing inspections, maintaining records, ensuring compliance with safety standards. The role requires strong mechanical knowledge, physical capability for demanding tasks, with a strong focus on health and safety.
Principle Responsibilities
* Oversee and perform both preventative and reactive maintenance on all estate vehicles, machinery, and specialised equipment such as lawnmowers and chainsaws.
* Ensure all repairs and modifications align with manufacturers' specifications.
* Maintain and manage all equipment certifications in line with regulatory standards and statutory requirements.
* Ensure accurate and up-to-date documentation of inspections, maintenance, and repairs as per company operational and health and safety procedures.
* Conduct thorough inspections of vehicles, tools, and equipment on a daily, weekly, monthly, and annual basis.
* Take immediate corrective actions upon identifying any issues.
* Inspections will include both visual and auditory checks to ensure all machinery is safe and fully operational.
* Maintain detailed records of all mechanical work performed, including inspections, repairs, and services.
* Ensure that all documentation is submitted promptly and accurately to the appropriate supervisors.
* Keep inventory lists updated, particularly when new equipment is purchased.
* Ensure all mechanical tools and equipment are safe and fit for purpose.
* Report any defects immediately and ensure all repairs are carried out following a structured procedure.
* Perform CRVT servicing and preparation of maintenance vehicles.
* Maximise the value of budgetary investment in attractions and equipment by seeking cost-effective solutions and ensuring the best value for money in all purchases and maintenance activities.

Required Experience & Skills
* Mechanical Experience of 5+ years. A recognised mechanical apprenticeship or equivalent.
* Ability to read and understand electrical and hydraulic diagrams.
* Full clean Irish drivers' licence with trailer.
* Over 25 years of age.
* Excellent IT skills and record keeping.
* Strong organisation, planning and communication skills.
* Access to own transport.
* Flexible with working hours.
* Experience in recording and reporting of works in coherence with Health and Safety regulations.

* Eligibility to work in Ireland
Preferred Qualifications
* Minimum of five years working in a commercial mechanical setting. Desirably Experience with Hydraulics / agricultural and plant machinery / process plant / mechanical fitter would be preferable.
