Mindo Asia Restaurant Limited owns a 90-person capacity restaurant in the centre of the bustling Dublin City. In the basement of our restaurant is another 100-person capacity karaoke area with 5 state-of-the-art karaoke rooms.
Job Description:
We are seeking a skilled and passionate Chef, well versed in 小吃 (xiǎo chī) cuisine from the Fujianese region of China to join our dynamic team. We will undergo renovations to change from our current Moroccan restaurant to this cuisine. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in culinary arts and a proven track record of delivering high-quality dishes. As a Chef at Mindo Asia Restaurant Limited, you will be responsible for leading the kitchen, creating delectable dishes, and ensuring a high standard of food safety and hygiene.
Key Responsibilities:
Plan, prepare, and execute a diverse menu that meets our high standards of taste and presentation.
Oversee kitchen operations, including food preparation, cooking, and plating.
Develop and test new recipes, incorporating seasonal and local ingredients.
Manage inventory, order supplies, and maintain accurate records.
Train, mentor, and supervise kitchen staff to ensure consistent quality and efficiency.
Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations and maintain a clean and organised kitchen.
Collaborate with the management team to develop and implement special menus, promotions, and events.
Monitor food costs and work to minimise waste.
Stay current with industry trends and continuously seek to improve culinary skills and techniques.
Key Requirements:
Proven experience as a Chef, with at least 5 years in a professional kitchen environment.
Strong knowledge of various cooking techniques, cuisines, and ingredients.
Excellent leadership and communication skills.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
High level of creativity and passion for food.
Strong organisational and time management skills.
Attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality dishes.
Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Proficiency in kitchen equipment and tools.
Familiarity with food safety and sanitation regulations.
