The team delivers an experience that helps developers quickly find the right API, assess its capabilities, and integrate it into solutions. You will play a key role in designing and developing next-generation products and services for a global audience.
Lead Software Development Engineer - API Platform — Mastercard
Responsibilities
* Lead planning, design and implementation of technical solutions for global customers (internal and external).
* Continually ideate, scope, develop, deliver, test and iterate features for Mastercard Developers.
* Ensure appropriate levels of automation are adopted (build, deploy, configure, validate, monitor).
* Liaise with other global technology, data, operations teams to execute.
* Act as subject matter expert for Mastercard Developers API Platform and services to support customer integrations.
All About You (Qualifications)
* 8+ years of backend development experience.
* Very strong Java and object-oriented design and development skills.
* Knowledge of Kotlin is a plus as it is one of our primary languages for backend services.
* Strong fundamentals of Spring Boot, microservices and SQL-based databases (Oracle and PostgreSQL).
* Proven track record in API-based products.
* You care about technical architecture and design – ensuring solutions are flexibly designed and perform efficiently.
* Experience working in an Agile environment with a global team that makes frequent production releases.
* Background in Dev/Ops and automation is a distinct advantage.
* Experience designing and delivering APIs and security models is an advantage.
* Desire to create highly intuitive and responsive products.
