About the Role
As a Senior Electrical Engineer, you will be responsible for the
design, development, and technical leadership
of electronic systems supporting advanced medical devices.
You will work closely with mechanical, software, systems, and quality engineering teams to ensure products are safe, compliant, and manufacturable.
This position offers a
hybrid working model
, combining on-site collaboration in Limerick with flexible remote working.
Key Responsibilities
Design electronic assemblies and
printed circuit board assemblies (PCBAs)
for electro-mechanical medical device products.
Support projects across all development phases, from concept and design through verification, validation, and commercialization.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams (mechanical, software, systems, quality) to meet
project schedules and budgets
.
Provide
technical mentorship
and guidance to junior engineers.
Ensure designs comply with all applicable
regulatory and agency requirements
(UL, IEC, FDA).
Design and test for
EMI/EMC compliance
, electrical safety, and manufacturability.
Perform
failure analysis
, root cause investigations, and corrective actions.
Generate and maintain
design specifications, test protocols, and test reports
.
Participate in
technical design reviews
, ensuring electrical design integrity and patient safety.
About You
Hold a
Level 8 degree in Engineering
(BSc in Electronics or equivalent), or equivalent industry experience.
Have
4+ years' experience
in a similar electrical engineering role.
Strong electronics expertise, including
analog, digital, and mixed-signal circuit design
.
Experience within the
Medical Device industry
is a strong advantage.
Familiarity with
design controls, EMC testing
, and requirements documentation.
Comfortable working in a regulated environment with cross-functional and global teams.
