The Estimating and Contracts Coordinator plays a key role in driving Merlyn's success in customer tenders and major specification projects where bespoke or high-volume pricing is required (typically opportunities exceeding 10 units). This role combines analytical rigour, commercial awareness, and product knowledge to deliver competitive pricing proposals and win high-value contracts. The successful candidate will manage tender processes end-to-end, support business growth through proactive opportunity tracking, and uphold best-in-class bid practices.

Key Responsibilities
Your Day-to-Day Impact
* Craft accurate costings and build smart pricing structures
* Analyse and refine pricing to boost margins and reduce risk
* Prepare compelling tender documentation
* Generate and interpret KPI reports
* Monitor planning applications (Barbour ABI leads) for new opportunities
* Understand competitor proposals to sharpen our edge
* Maintain and update our ERP system
* Support the Estimating and Sales teams with daily admin tasks
* Keep pricing and cost files current and assist with annual budget prep
* Forecast sales and margins for our Specification Channel
Tendering Phase Responsibilities
* Assist in tender preparation and handle related queries
* Evaluate commercial aspects of all submissions
* Collaborate with project management and commercial teams
* Maintain detailed contract records and correspondence
* Ensure timely renewals and renegotiations
* Drive lead generation through CRM tools
Qualifications/Education
What You'll Need to Succeed
* 3–5 years of experience in contracts administration
* Impeccable organisational skills and deadline discipline
* Strong reporting, analytical, and negotiation abilities
* Proficiency in contract management software and MS Office
* Resilience under pressure and a proactive mindset
* A positive, adaptable attitude and a collaborative approach
