Occupational Therapist Opportunity in Primary Care
This is an excellent opportunity for experienced Occupational Therapists to join our Primary Care Team in East Limerick and North Tipperary. We are seeking highly motivated individuals who can work in a community setting, providing essential Occupational Therapy services to adults requiring intervention to enhance their functional abilities and quality of life.
The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality Occupational Therapy interventions to adults within the Primary Care setting. This includes conducting comprehensive assessments and developing individualised care plans to promote functional independence in activities of daily living (ADLs). Additionally, they will provide intervention in areas such as self-care, mobility, housing adaptations, equipment prescription, and falls prevention.
As part of our multidisciplinary team, the successful candidate will work collaboratively with Physiotherapists, Speech and Language Therapists, Public Health Nurses, and GPs. They will also supervise and support junior staff, students, and Occupational Therapy Assistants, ensuring high standards of practice.
Key Responsibilities:
* Deliver high-quality Occupational Therapy interventions to adults within the Primary Care setting.
* Conduct comprehensive assessments and develop individualised care plans to promote functional independence in ADLs.
* Provide intervention in areas such as self-care, mobility, housing adaptations, equipment prescription, and falls prevention.
* Work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
* Supervise and support junior staff, students, and Occupational Therapy Assistants.
Requirements:
* Be registered on the Occupational Therapists Register maintained by the Occupational Therapists Registration Board at CORU.
* Minimum of three years post-qualification experience, with at least one year in a relevant area such as Primary Care, Community, or Rehabilitation.
* Strong experience in assessment and intervention planning within a community or primary care setting.
* Excellent communication and teamwork skills to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary colleagues and service users.
* Experience in mentoring and supervising junior staff or students is desirable.
* A full driver's license and access to a vehicle are essential.
* Current residency in Ireland with the legal right to work without restrictions.
