Health and Safety Lead
Type of role: Contract 3 to 6 months
Location: County Kildare
Industry: Facilities, Manufacturing
Reporting to the Strategic Account Director with a focus on a large strategic client
Desirable Skills & Certifications:
* Safe Pass
* PSDP / PSCS knowledge
* Manual Handling Trainer
* Office Ergonomics / VDU Assessor
* "Train the Trainer" qualification
* Internal Auditor certification
* Chartered Membership of IOSH (or actively working towards) – minimum level 6
Key Responsibilities:
* To manage the risk assessment program and identify how risks can be reduced;
* To develop safe operational procedures which identify and take account of all relevant hazards;
* To provide leadership to the management of Health & Safety on site
* Carry out regular site inspections to check that policies and procedures are being properly implemented;
* Internal audits tracking and directing follow-up activities to correct any non-conformity.
* Lead in the preparation of health and safety strategies and developing internal policy;
* To advise on fire regulations, hazardous substances, noise and compliance.
* To develop and manage the site Safety Management system and to ensure that it is maintained in a constant state of audit readiness,
* Lead in-house training with managers and employees about health and safety issues and risks;
* To keep records of inspection findings and producing reports that suggest improvements;
* To record and support the investigation of incidents and accidents and producing statistics for managers;
* Support contractor management activities;
* To oversee the Permit to Work system and to issue permits.
* To attend Institution of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH) and other seminars;
* To produce management reports, safety briefings and KPIs
