Job Purpose
A food safety and quality focused hygiene lead with responsibility for all aspects of the site’s hygiene function. To lead a team of hygiene operatives during cleaning activities, to maintain the site to the level required by our
customer base and to meet legal requirements. Support the Production Manager / business in achieving its daily targets, yields and efficiencies through effective cleaning / handover of factory

Key Responsibilities
Responsibilities associated with this role include, but are not limited to:
* Lead the hygiene team to ensure the successful achievement of all targets
* Be hygiene champion for company liaising with external contractors and other departments
* Champion effective communication across the department and with other departments
* Escalate any foreseen problems required to the Operations Manager if deemed necessary
* Review all cleaning data (such as swabbing schedules, ATP results) to ensure compliance
* Ensure all handover checks have been completed and the line is handed back to production on time
* Monitor control of all items within the area such as production tools, probes, machine parts in line with metal procedures and other such foreign matter procedures in place
* Conserve and manage energy
* Ensure the work area and machines are in a clean/ safe/ hygienic manner
* Ensure all equipment is operated in accordance with training provided and that all staff are trained and signed off
* Be vigilant of failed swabs and any trends that may arise (in particular pathogens). Plan of action to be put in place around these instances to eliminate the growth of bacteria from escalating
* Ensure that all chemicals are handled, labelled and stored correctly as per MSDS COSSH protocols
* Ensure that there are MSDS COSSH sheets for all chemicals on site
* Ensure all hygiene and safety procedures and quality systems are adhered to at all times
* Offer suggestions/ new initiatives to a changing/ developing process and defining SOP’s required
* Ensure all SOPs are up to date and reviewed at minimum annually or if there is a change in process. All staff to be trained in the latest version of SOPs. All SOPS must take into account “best practice” in relation to operation, quality and health & safety
* Ensure handling and use of all ingredients/ finished product targets a zero wastage approach and reduces and writes off risk to the business
* Liaise with maintenance on any issues identified that need to be addressed or with the Production, Quality Manager if required
* Communicate with other members of staff/ supervisors if applicable to ensure uninterrupted stoppages to the process
* Segregate & manage waste
* Manage attendance, timekeeping, overtime, annual leave and weekly payroll
* Conduct employee appraisals and probationary performance reviews as well as ongoing performance management
* Deal with employee issues in conjunction with the Operations Manager/ HR department
* Ensure Lean and continuous improvement is applied in all processes
Skills / Qualifications / Experience
* Good working knowledge of the company’s computer system/ software and also Excel and Word
* Good knowledge of the companies processes and procedures and quality systems
* Good interpersonal and communication skills
* Good problem solving skills
* A decisive, motivated self-starter
* Strong team player with ability to work on own initiative
* Works to high standards all the time
* Is flexible and adaptable
* Collaborates with others to develop best practice

Note: As with all positions, due to the dynamic nature of Arrow Group business, key responsibilities will evolve and change over time. Some travel will be required. Appointment to this role is subject to the candidate’s eligibility to work in Ireland.
