Accounting Specialist
We're recruiting for an experienced Accounting Specialist within our finance team in Cork. The successful candidate will join a dynamic centre of excellence, comprising over 200 employees responsible for diverse areas, including fixed assets, treasury accounting, intercompany transactions, tax, revenue accounting, financial planning, and analysis, as well as regional lead accountants across EMEA & LATAM.
* Manage assigned general ledger area and provide excellent support to business partners.
* Be responsible for all accounting activities, including timely month-end close, periodic balance sheet reviews, income statement preparation, and journal voucher posting.
* Liaise with Regional Leads and the wider Accounting and Tax team to ensure consistent processes are applied across regions and corporate finance policies are uniformly treated.
* Responsible for preparing complete, timely, and accurate financial statements for assigned EMEA subsidiaries and their submission to relevant authorities.
* Responsible for quarterly tax provisions, year-end true-up provisions, Corporation Tax Returns review, and submission to the relevant tax authority.
* Maintain external income and transaction/indirect compliance requirements flowing into NetSuite.
* Oversee local accounting/compliance firms to ensure timely and accurate regulatory compliance.
* Support local and international audit-related activities, statutory audits, and international month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing processes.
* Monitor and forecast cash flow to ensure sufficient funds for payments.
* Collaborate with Intercompany teams to manage balances, settlements, and cash advances, ensuring alignment with Intercompany agreement terms.
* Work with Accounts Payable to resolve billing issues and set up vendors for timely and accurate payments.
* Process all accounting transactions, including disbursements, accurately and timely.
* Support the global monthly consolidation process.
* Maintain SOX and internal control compliance.
* Implement policies, standards, and guidelines related to EMEA finance activities.
* Liaise with Treasury, Payroll, HR, Equity, Legal, FP&A, Tax, and Corporate Accounting teams to meet day-to-day finance operational needs and assist in resolving issues and providing guidance.
* Mentor junior accountants and interns.
* Participate in upcoming projects and initiatives.
Requirements:
* A qualified accountant with a minimum of 6+ years of relevant accounting experience (ACA, ACCA, CIMA etc.), preferably in a public company environment.
* Strong foundation in accounting, month-end close, and financial reporting.
* Working knowledge of local accounting regulations and compliance.
* US GAAP accounting experience preferred.
* Ability to multi-task, be agile, and work well in a dynamic environment.
* Team player with strong communication, customer service, organizational skills, and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to meet deadlines and efficiently interact with various groups across the company and outside.
* Advance Excel skills.
* Experience with NetSuite preferred.
