Job Description:
The Metro Link project is a transformative piece of public transport infrastructure for Dublin, marking a paradigm shift in Irish public transport.
It will offer a high-capacity, high-frequency metro railway with 16 new stations from Swords to Charlemont, interlinking with multiple transport networks.
This system will provide unprecedented convenience of travel to passengers, with trains running every three minutes during peak times and expected annual passenger numbers of 53 million.
The majority of its 19km route is underground, making it a groundbreaking achievement in urban development.
We are seeking an experienced professional to lead our technical team and oversee the successful completion of system design assurance.
Key Responsibilities:
* Manage technical leadership within the area of design.
* Oversee a team of engineers to ensure the successful completion of system design assurance.
* Provide technical support to the Independent Safety Assessor team during the system integration and acceptance phase.
* Bring innovative technology and delivery methods to the project.
* Conduct technical investigations into equipment level and system level anomalies.
* Be responsible for the maintenance of the design and production baselines through to design acceptance.
* Provide work package estimates that balance quality, compliance, and cost.
* Provide technical guidance and leadership to the engineering team.
* Lead engagement with various stakeholders, including clients, contractors, and regulatory bodies.
* Provide regular updates on project progress and address any concerns.
* Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies.
* Promote an equitable, inclusive, and collaborative workplace.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
Candidates must possess good character, be fully competent, and capable of undertaking duties attached to the role.
A degree in civil or structural engineering discipline (NFQ Level 8 degree or equivalent) is required, along with professional membership with Engineers Ireland or equivalent.
Civil engineering rail experience is essential, with metro rail experience advantageous.
Candidates must also have experience managing Design-Build contractors, working with customers, and presenting technical solutions.
