Senior Agronomist Opportunity
Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Agronomist to join their Fresh Produce department. Based in the Republic of Ireland, this role will provide technical support and guidance to trading teams, ensuring high standards of quality, safety, statutory compliance, corporate social responsibility, and integrity are achieved.
Key Responsibilities:
- Effectively manage and build relations with key internal and external stakeholders
- Develop quality, safe, legal, and innovative products
- Understand and exceed customer expectations
- Achieve cost reductions and quality improvements
- Select and manage 'best-in-class' suppliers
- Proactively manage customer complaints
- Ensure all production sites are audited and fully compliant to relevant standards
Requirements
- Previous retail experience is advantageous
- Minimum three years of fresh produce technical management or Agronomy experience
- Degree in a relevant science subject (e.g., Agriculture, Agronomy, Food Technology, Horticulture, Chemistry, Microbiology) or a closely related discipline
- BASIS would be advantageous. Knowledge of HACCP and Field to Fork
- Ability to manage crisis situations such as product withdrawals and recalls
- Excellent attention to detail with clear focus on end results
- Excellent communication skills and strong negotiation skills
- Personal integrity and ability to work independently
