Role Profile
A vacancy has arisen for the role of Compliance Manager in Agribusiness. This role will ensure that the finance and regulatory activities of Agribusiness are in compliance with local/national laws, ethical standards and regulatory policies. As a part of the compliance manager's role, the successful candidate will be involved in developing policies and strategies and implementing them in a timely manner. Being a compliance lead, the job requires performing periodic audits and designing control systems that augment the efficiency within the framework of the internal regulations and policies. From leading training sessions to adhering to compliance regulations while implementing them, this role requires an analytical person, who knows the industry and its trends back to front.
Objectives of this role
* Work closely with the Commercial Leadership Team to ensure new industry regulations are understood and embedded into operational practices
* Proactively identify and mitigate existing and emerging risks across Agribusiness.
* Work with business stakeholders to develop and implement robust compliance policies and procedures using relevant systems and platforms.
* Support the business in resolving risk issues through structured Management Action Plans (MAPs).
* Foster a culture of integrity, accountability, and continuous improvement in risk management
Responsibilities
* Collaborate with the business to assess current risk exposures and close gaps through policy and process development.
* Monitor emerging risks and lead mitigation strategies in partnership with the Agri Commercial Leadership Group.
* Design and deliver training modules for key compliance topics and employee induction programmes via My Learning on Success Factor to ensure consistent understanding of compliance expectations across all levels of Agribusiness
* Support the business in developing and executing MAPs to address identified risks, ensuring visibility and accountability
* Manage all MAP’s on the Agri Risk Register to resolution.
* Conduct branch visits to audit compliance practices and audit Business Manager activities.
* Provide structured regular updates on risk issues to senior stakeholders
* Responsibility for the Agri training matrix for all regulatory and Health and Safety training
Required skills and qualifications
* Bachelor’s degree in law, finance, business administration, or a similar discipline
* Prior experience working as a Compliance Manager or in a similar position
* Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
* Knowledge of industry trends, laws, and regulations
* Outstanding analytical skills and problem-solving abilities
Preferred skills and qualifications
* Experience in financial risk management
* Exposure to curating, executing and monitoring compliance projects
* Ability to influence stakeholders across all levels without direct authority
