Role:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced
IT Service Design Architect
to lead the design, improvement, and governance of IT services across the organisation. Operating in a
semi-state environment
, this cross-functional role is central to ensuring that both new and existing services are designed to be secure, supportable, cost-effective, and aligned with organisational and regulatory requirements.
The ideal candidate will combine strong technical and architectural awareness with deep knowledge of service management frameworks, cybersecurity standards, and operational excellence.
Responsibilities:
* Lead the design of end-to-end IT services, covering service models, SLAs, support structures, and transition plans.
* Collaborate across Enterprise Architecture, Cybersecurity, Service Management, Business Analysis, and Project Delivery teams.
* Ensure all service designs align with
ITIL
,
NIST
, and
NIS2
requirements, and are fully integrated with our
ServiceNow
platform.
* Design both
new greenfield services
and re-engineer existing services to improve efficiency, compliance, and user experience.
* Document service designs, models, and processes clearly and consistently.
* Support governance processes and contribute to architectural and service design standards across the organisation.
* Full ownership for the
Service Transition
of all ICT projects and services into the Service Management function. This includes working with the individual Project and Change Owners throughout the Prince 2 Project Management Life Cycle to ensure the requirements of Service Transition are build-in to each relevant milestone.
Requirements
* Proven experience in service design architecture, or ITSM roles in a complex cross-functional environment.
* Strong knowledge of
ITIL v4
and practical service design techniques.
* Experience aligning service design with frameworks such as
NIST
and the
NIS2 Directive
.
* Proficient with
ServiceNow
(especially CMDB, service catalogues, and workflow design)
* Broad technical understanding of infrastructure, cloud, cyber security, and applications (including SAP ERP)
* Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills across technical and non-technical teams.
* Strong understanding of IT operations and security risk management.
* Experience working with third party vendors including Managed Service Providers (MSP) and Security Operations Centers (SOC).
* 5+ years of experience in a Service Management including 2+ years in a leadership/process owner role.
* Good general knowledge and experience of ITSM products and technologies.
* Experience developing and implementing standards, processes and procedures based on the ITIL framework.
