Position Overview

As a Lean Manufacturing Specialist you will facilitate and lead continuous improvement projects and initiatives through the development and implementation of our Production Systems, Lean, Six Sigma, etc., to deliver best‑in‑class performance at our DePuy Synthes site. You will work cross‑functionally to identify improvement opportunities, foster a culture of continuous improvement, and achieve sustainable high standards of manufacturing performance.


Key Responsibilities

* Collaborate with Value Stream Teams and functional departments to develop business process standards (Standard Work, 6S, Digital Performance Management, A3 Problem Solving, Value Stream Mapping) that optimize capacity, reduce lead‑time, minimize inventories, maximize fill‑rates, and improve productivity.
* Shape and lead comprehensive site‑wide change programs applying Lean and Six Sigma methodologies to drive operational excellence and efficiencies, ensuring high quality while delivering lower costs and shorter lead‑times.
* Embed and sustain the "Managing Site Performance" business process standard, integrating it across all levels of operations.
* Develop, mentor, and nurture a robust culture of continuous improvement, engaging all employees in proactive process enhancement initiatives.
* Oversee all continuous improvement projects, ensuring they are conducted to the highest standards in a safe, quality-focused, and effective manner.
* Maximize engagement at all levels of the organization and communicate business-related issues or opportunities to the next management level.


Required Qualifications

* Certification in Lean or Six Sigma at Black Belt level.
* Degree in Process Excellence, Manufacturing, Engineering or related field.
* Proven experience working in a medical device manufacturing environment.
* Solid understanding of World Class Manufacturing & Lean Manufacturing.
* Certification in Root Cause Problem‑Solving methodology.


Desirable Qualifications

* MS in Lean Operations, Process Perfection, and/or Operations Management.
* Working knowledge of a highly regulated medical device industry.
* Project management qualification.

* Proven ability to identify, lead and implement lean fundamental initiatives that deliver tangible business results.
* Strong change management experience, demonstrating a track record of delivering breakthrough results at an organizational level.
* Excellent facilitation skills for cross‑functional workshops and mapping sessions.
* Self‑driven, independent with strong teamwork capabilities.
* Outstanding interpersonal and communication abilities, fostering cross‑functional collaboration.
* Innovative mindset, adaptable to overcome business challenges and generate creative solutions.
* Strong problem‑solving expertise and critical thinking skills in fast‑paced environments.
* Ethical decision‑making, demonstrating a commitment to high ethical standards.
