Financial Accountant Job Description
The Financial Accountant role is a critical position in our organization. It involves applying principles of accounting and other process skills to manage the monthly close and support other accounting and reporting requirements, as well as oversight and leadership to a small team.
Responsibilities:
* Manage the completion and preparation of the monthly financial statements to Corporate, including processes for review of subsidiary financial packages, reconciliations of intercompany statements, adjusting entries and intercompany profit analysis resulting in high quality and accurate financial statements
* Coordinate the monthly close process, including but not limited to journal postings, intercompany reconciliations, assessments, etc.
* Review subsidiary financial reporting processes to ensure compliance to US GAAP and internal accounting policies
* Manage and maintain the integrity of the Financial set up in the IFS ERP System
* Prepare and/or review monthly account reconciliations
* Assist with technical accounting issues, e.g., gross profit and purchase price accounting
* Manage and assist annual external audit processes
* Manage and assist with R&D Tax Credits, annual tax returns and completion of annual Statutory Financial Statements
* Partner with peers on the team, as well as cross functionally with those in other areas such as FP&A, HR, Treasury, Tax, Internal Leadership and Business Group personnel
* Prepare Ad hoc analyses and reporting as requested
* Manage and assist with coordination of Payroll processes
* Manage and assist with coordination of Accounts Receivable collection processes
* Manage and assist with coordination of Accounts Payable payment processes
* Manage and assist with special projects as required
* Ensure appropriate staff are trained and cross trained on all relevant activities
* Manage all relevant accounting processes and systems and ensure all processes are properly documented
* Ensure properly developing team to take on additional duties and responsibilities, enhance employee engagement and continue to drive performance management of all team members
Requirements:
* Professional Accounting Qualification (ACA/ACCA/CIMA)
* Minimum 2-5 years related post-qualified experience
* Prior supervisory experience or project management experience a plus
* Strong technical accounting skills
