The role
Role summary
As Group Accountant you will be responsible for overseeing the financial health of our group and/or division while ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and standards. You will play a critical role in consolidating financial statements, analysing financial performance across our divisions, and providing strategic insights to support decision-making processes. You will work closely with various departments to develop budgets, forecast financial performance, and identify opportunities for cost reduction and efficiency improvements. Additionally, you will be involved in the preparation and presentation of reports for the senior leadership team and may provide guidance and support to other finance team members. Your analytical skills and ability to interpret complex financial data will be essential in helping us maintain our competitive edge in the evolving plastics market.
* Prepare and consolidate monthly and annual financial statements for the group and/or division.
* Ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements at all times.
* Analyse financial data to provide insights into business performance and operational effectiveness.
* Coordinate and manage budgeting and forecasting processes across various departments.
* Review and improve internal controls and processes related to financial reporting aligned to DOAG.
* Collaborate with external auditors during the annual audit process and address any findings.
* Assist in the preparation of tax returns and ensure compliance with tax regulations.
Qualifications And Experience
* Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
* Professional accounting qualification (e.g., CPA, ACCA) is highly desirable.
* Minimum of 5 years of experience (2+ years PQE in accounting and finance, preferably in a group or multi-entity environment).
* Strong understanding of IFRS or GAAP principles and financial reporting standards.
* Proficiency in accounting software and advanced Excel skills.
* Excellent analytical skills with a keen attention to detail and accuracy.
* Ability to communicate complex financial information clearly to non-financial stakeholders.
