Store Assistant – The Gibson Hotel
We have a fantastic new vacancy for a Store Assistant in the excellent Gibson Hotel on a casual contract.
Objective of the Role
As Store Assistant you will assist in the receiving of goods into the hotel, checking for quality and accuracy as well as ensure correct administration of deliveries. You will also be required to assist in the general administration and to co-ordinate daily purchases.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
1. Responsible for the ordering, storage and requisitioning of all food & beverage items working with a par stock.
2. Responsible for the storage and requisitioning of all dry goods items working with a par stock.
3. Acceptance of all deliveries, checking for damages, and ensuring that all HACCP regulations are in order.
4. Storage of all deliveries including perishable foodstuffs, ensuring a first in first out rotation system is in place.
5. Responsible for the storage and requisitioning of all cleaning chemicals, stationary items & disposables working with a par stock.
6. Participation and contribution to the hotel sustainability committee.
7. Management of the waste disposal within the Hotel.
8. Taking responsibility for the organisation of the back-yard area and general hotel grounds, ensuring that all areas have been cleaned daily.
9. Coordinate with various departments in the purchasing of stock to ensure no items go out of stock.
10. Full ownership of the purchasing process - from processing orders to checking deliveries on arrival.
11. Source, select and negotiate for the best purchase package in terms of quality, price, terms, deliveries and services with suppliers.
12. Monitor and co-ordinate deliveries of items between suppliers.
Requirements:
* Experience in purchasing is a key advantage.
* Hotel experience is a key advantage.
