Job Opportunity: Health and Safety Professional
This key role focuses on ensuring a safe working environment by implementing effective safety policies, conducting comprehensive training sessions, and monitoring adherence to health and safety regulations.
The ideal candidate will be a proactive individual who can effectively communicate safety protocols and foster a culture of safety within the organisation.
Responsibilities:
* Develop and implement health and safety policies and procedures, including emergency plans, to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements
* Conduct thorough risk assessments to identify potential hazards and implement control measures to mitigate risks
* Provide training and information to all employees on safe working practices and quality standards to promote a positive work environment
* Supervise and monitor adherence to safety procedures, ensuring a safe workplace, and allocate resources necessary for safety equipment, first aid provisions, and other essential resources
* Lead by example, promoting a positive safety and quality culture within the organisation
* Monitor performance and effectiveness of the health and safety management system, addressing non-conformities through investigation and root cause analysis
* Engage in continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to enhance safety and quality, and develop strategies to improve overall organisational performance
Requirements:
* Proven experience in a health and safety role or similar position, with a track record of success in developing and implementing effective safety policies and procedures
* Ability to train others in Manual Handling, Gantry, Abrasive Wheels, and other relevant areas, with strong communication skills to engage employees at all levels
* Strong knowledge of health and safety legislation and best practices, with certification in First Aid highly desirable
* Excellent report writing skills with the ability to communicate findings clearly and effectively, and proficiency in conducting root cause analysis
* Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously, and excellent interpersonal skills to engage with employees at all levels of the organisation
* A proactive approach to problem-solving with strong attention to detail, and a commitment to fostering a culture of safety and quality within the organisation
